Frequently Asked Questions

When will your steam locomotives be ready for service?

Number 11 returned to service in October 2015 and is the primary power on our tourist trains. Number 38 is undergoing restoration as time permits. We apologize that we cannot answer further questions about the operation or restoration of the locomotives at this time.

Can you guarantee equipment availability?

Due to the historic nature of our equipment, it may be necessary to substitue locomotives or passenger cars on short notice. The Everett Railroad reserves the right to change equipment or cancel an event at any time.

What are your operating hours?

All departures (unless otherwise noted) are from Hollidaysburg, and our depot there opens one hour before the day's earliest train.

When should I arrive at the depot?

We recommend you arrive at least 30 minutes prior to departure to allow for parking and to pick up your boarding passes. We do not reserve seats; seating is first-come, first-serve.

Do you have a gift shop?

Our depot in Hollidaysburg contains a small selection of t-shirts, hats, gifts and snacks which are available for purchase on train day. We do not sell concessions on the train.

What Credit Cards do you accept?

When purchasing tickets online, you can use Visa, Mastercard and PayPal. In our depot, we accept Visa and Mastercard.

Do you provide discounts for groups?

The Everett Railroad Company is pleased to offer discounts of 10% on groups of 12 paying customers (over age 3) or more. To receive your discount, you must register by phone and not online. Please call us at 814-696-EVRR and we will be glad to assist you.

Are cars or entire trains available for charter?

Depending on your event, we can provide you with a cost quote for a single car or an entire train. Please call 814-696-EVRR, or email us using the form on our Contact Page, providing as much information as possible about your event, and we will be happy to furnish a quote.

Do you offer refunds?

Please be aware that our trains run regardless of weather. Refunds are only available if the train does not operate.

Can I exchange my tickets for another date or train?

Unfortunately, once you buy your tickets, we cannot exchange them for another date, time, or train.

Are there restrooms at the depot?

Yes, restrooms and changing stations are available at Hollidaysburg.

Are there restrooms on the train?

At this time, our two coaches feature RV-style toilets. There is no running water on the train.

Is the train air conditioned?

No, our equipment is not air conditioned.

Are your facilities handicap accessible?

The equipment used by the Everett Railroad is historic in nature and, as such, is not handicap accessible. Most doorways are between 24 and 25 inches wide, and because of this, wheelchairs cannot be easily accommodated on the train.

Can we bring food or alcohol or other drink on the train?

Unless otherwise stated, patrons are welcome to bring snacks and non-alcoholic beverages on the train. Alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited on all Everett Railroad trains and facilities unless explicitly stated otherwise.
