The Everett Railroad Ice Cream Special pairs a scenic, steam-powered journey through Morrison’s Cove with an ice cream stop at historic Roaring Spring Station. It’s an easygoing adventure for children, grandparents, railfans, and everyone in between.

Depart from historic Hollidaysburg Station for a two-hour round trip to Roaring Spring. During the stop, every ticketed guest can choose a serving of chocolate or vanilla ice cream before climbing back aboard for the return journey.
Upgrade to First Class for table service, seasonal beverages, and snacks in a climate-controlled car. The Hollidaysburg Station concession stand opens at noon, so you can also purchase lunch before the 1:00 PM departure.

Passengers depart from historic Hollidaysburg Station before traveling through Morrison’s Cove aboard one of Everett Railroad’s vintage trains. The journey includes a stop at Roaring Spring Station, where every guest receives a complimentary serving of chocolate or vanilla ice cream before returning to Hollidaysburg.

Is the train ride wheelchair accessible?
We are not ADA Accessible. There are three steps with handrails that must be climbed to enter each car.
What happens if it rains?
The Ice Cream Special operates rain or shine. The enclosed passenger coaches provide a comfortable ride regardless of the weather.
How early should I arrive?
Please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled departure. This allows plenty of time for parking, checking in, and boarding the train.
Are reservations required?
Yes. Advance reservations are strongly recommended, as the Ice Cream Special is one of Everett Railroad's most popular seasonal excursions and often sells out.
Is parking available?
Yes. Free parking is available near the departure station for all ticketed passengers.
Can I take photos during the ride?
Absolutely! Guests are encouraged to take photos and videos throughout the excursion. The steam locomotive, historic railcars, scenic countryside, and station stop offer wonderful photo opportunities.
Are restrooms available?
Yes. Restroom facilities are available onboard each passenger car and at the station during your stop in Roaring Spring.
